Oh La La Paris!

So let me tell you about how fabulous are the new paper pads by Recollections! So I showcased one of the newer paper pads earlier this month and I am back with another project made from the C'est La Vie paper pad. Now I know I said the Glam pad was nice.. but this one is so fab! I love the cut aparts in this one as well and its not the typical color scheme you seen in a Paris theme paper collection. Some of the papers have a nice gloss to them as well as being embossed so if you have a Michaels near you go get this paper pad! And the awesome part is that is goes on sale all the time so you don't have to pay full price!

The tutorial I used was the All Occasions Mini Album by Kathy King of Paper Phenomenon. If you haven't stumbled upon Kathy's website you must do so now! Her work is gorgeous and her tutorials are easy to follow with lots of pictures and video. Her style is not over the top and more on showcasing the photos and the pretty paper you use in your projects. Her albums also hold a TON of photos! This album easily holds over 50 photos! You can check Kathy out here. She also showcases her products on her YouTube channel.

The only modification I made from her tutorial was that I added some pockets to my pages and jazzed up the cover my album.
I cut out a gold Eiffel Tower and black lamppost with my Silhouette Cameo. The glass knob was actually a magnet that I took the magnet part off and adhere it to the cover. I glued a chipboard frame to the cover and left the top part open to place a tag and added a pretty pink flower.

I added some gold washi tape to the inside covers to add some extra texture and frame the cute bonjour paper.

Love the faux envelopes in this album. I also accented them with a french macaron sticker. So each of these pages has a cute sticker on the top portion of the envelope. These pages are also held closed with magnets.
Another interactive piece of this album is the split pages that can hold 4x6 photos front and back.

Some pages are full of photo spots as seen in this photo or just at the top to showcase the paper.

Here is a pocket I created and a tuck spot for a photo mat. You can also glue a photo to the page itself to add more photos.
This is the center pages of the album and they are mirrored version of each other with stacked belly bands.  I love the look! I added some photo mats into the belly bands to hold even more photos.

I used some of the cuts aparts as accents into the album. I just backed them on black a cardstock.

This was an extra that I added to the album that was not in the tutorial. I created another tuck spot to hold photo mats and then I created a spot to hold 2 more photos on the other page to had another interactive element. It has a magnetic closure.

This is how the page looks on the inside of the faux envelope.

I loved how this album turned out! I would like to keep this one, but I can't keep all of the albums that I make so this one is for sale on eBay. You can see the listing here.

Boys Are Rad Mini Album

So as the mother of a very active little boy I am always trying to figure out how to make my mini albums and folios not so girly. I can't help myself though because I do enjoy all things girly including the color pink and glitter, but my little one keeps me on track to make  mini albums that he and other little boys and not so little boys would like as well. So my very first mini album I made was a mini album for my son with his name on the front:) I will show that one at some point once I get some pictures in it.. lol. I know I make one for my own kid and haven't gotten the change to put photos in it. The popularity of my papercrafting business kind of took off and I just put it to the side amongst a few other projects. But I digress... this was the second boy theme album I made and I absolutely loved the way it came out! Its not girly at all and even met with my son and hubby's approval so I knew it was "boy" enough that it would be a great gift!

This adorable but oh sooo boy mini album is 5x7 with chipboard covers. The paper collection I used is by Simple Stories and is called So Rad. I used the 12x12 and 6x6 papers as well as the brads, bits and peices die cuts, chipboard stickers, and the regular stickers that come in the 12x12 collection kit. Everything about this paper collection screams boy which is why I got as soon as I saw it. The website I initially purchased it from is no longer in business but don't fret Amazon still sells it with all the extra embellishments :) I made 6 double sided pages for a total of 12 pages with lots of interactive elements! There are plenty of places to put photos from 3x3 to 4x6 sizes and even though its only 5x7 it can hold over 30 photos! You can get 12 photos just on the pull out mats alone. Below are more pictures of the goodness that is inside of this album.

This one is currently for sale on my Ebay profile. If you are interested the link is here: So Rad

Until next time...

Valentine's Mini Album Swap

Hey Ya'll!

It has been a while but I have been really busy with my papercraft and cake businesses as well as working full time, so unfortunately I let blogging get away from me:( But I am back now and am so excited to share with you all some projects that I have been working on!

So recently I participated in a Valentine theme swap in one of the Facebook scrapbookers groups I belong to. You were randomly assigned a partner and you could make anything that was Love/Valentine's related. I decided to make a small mini photo folio. I used Valentine's theme paper pad by Recollections. Which by the way... they have really stepped up their game with their new paper pads. I absolutely love them! And the fact that they are a hot buy at Michaels makes it even better! But I digress... lol.. so yes I used their theme paper and design a small but very cute love theme mini photo folio.

It measures 5x7 and holds about 20 photos. I used one of the bigger cut aparts to use as the front of the folio. I also used the coordinating flowers for this particular stack to adorn the front cover. I cut out a dark red heart and glued it to the front cover as well to create a tuck spot and put in a smaller cut a part from the collection. To keep everything together, I used a Tim Holtz elastic band which I also love!

I use magents in this folio so I could more creative with embellishments. So I glue a dark red heart to one side of the page so when closed it looks like its in the center of the page but doesn't stop the pages from opening.

This is what that page looks like open. These pages can hold a  4x6 and some  3x3 photos.

This is the other side of the folio. You turn the red/pink damask page and this underneath a split mini flaps and a double pocket page. The split flaps can hold 4 4x4 photos. And the page with the vintage writing script can hold a 4x6 photo.

The double pocket page can 4x6 and 5x7 photos on the photo mats! So this folio may be small but can hold bigger sized photos. There is also another tuck spot I created with another dark red heart and cut out some more of the smaller cut a parts.

And there is still more! So you flip the page that the split mini flaps page and there is a pocket on the page that hold 2 more 4x4 photo mats and then a bigger pocket on the back of the folio. In the bigger pocket can 4x6 photos.

Here are the photo mats that I made for the double pocket page. Once I just loved this paper! My swap partner got her folio yesterday with a few other goodies I included in the box and she just loved it!

I just started selling my albums and folios about 6 months ago so I am still very nervous when I make one if they will like it or not but it seems that so far people are loving them which makes me so happy. I have a few more to show off that I will be posting this week that were made months ago that I just am now getting to showcase. Until next time...
